Kate Searle
As headteacher of Cheapside School, I am automatically on the governing body. My role is to report back to the governors regularly on the curriculum, budget, resources and progress against the school development plan. When I’m not at school or at governing body meetings you can find me walking our school dog and spending time with my family.
Rev. Tansley Jordan
As Vicar of Sunninghill and South Ascot I have an ex-officio role on the PCC and attend the main governing body meetings where I see it as my main role both to champion the Christian ethos of the school and to ensure that it is a community where students and staff of all faiths and cultural backgrounds can flourish. Prior to my ordination in 2019 I worked in education as a secondary school teacher and residential housemistress, and latterly in school and university chaplaincy. This experience has given me a good understanding of the education system, and a particular concern for promoting staff and student well-being.
Amelia Robinson
I was a Lloyds Insurance Broker in the city for 20 plus years ( broking International medical and Personal Accident pro sports and Liability business) I headed up a team and managed large budgets. My husband Mark and I moved to Cheapside in 2003, I joined the congregation at St Michaels church and ran the baby and toddler group, Sunday school and was part of the assembly team that came to Cheapside each week and was Churchwarden for 7 years. After leaving the city I ran the CMI cafe in Sunningdale and was Nanny to 3 children who are now taking A levels and GCSEs! I became a foundation governor at Cheapside school and have in my time as a governor been Safeguarding gov, chair of Admission and Curriculum and Chair of Governors. At the end of 2019 I joined the staff to help in the office after we sadly lost Sarah, I stepped back from my role as chair, after 3 years I left the role in December 22 and am now privileged to serve again as Chair of Governors. My time at school has given me an insight that not many governors have! We now live in Windsor but I spend quite a lot of time back in Cheapside! I am passionate about primary years education and the opportunities we offer and the nurture of our young children, this is the foundation for all that will follow in their lives. I enjoy coming into school to spend time with the children and to get to know them the staff and the parents. If I have not yet met you then I hope to soon at one of our PTA or School events.
Genevieve Gosling
I have just joined the governing board in January 2023. I have lived in Ascot since 1981 and ran a hotel in the area until 2016. I will be the governor of the school for Health and Safety and a link governor for RE. I also sit on the Finance & Premises Committee.
I have three boys and am a grandmother of 5. I am very excited to be joining such a progressive school and look forward to being part of the team
Erin Kerr
I have recently joined the governing body as a parent governor in May 2023. I have lived in Ascot for the past 8 years and have two young children. One of whom is currently in year 1 and my youngest shall be starting reception in Sept 2023. I have worked for the Metropolitan Police Service for 20 years and have seen first hand just how important schooling is in enabling children to thrive both academically and socially. The ethos of Cheapside is what drew my partner and I to the school in the first place so I am extremely grateful to be afforded the opportunity to help support this to ensure children are provided the opportunity to achieve their best.
Nick Day
I have lived in the Windsor/Cheapside area for 15 years, and during each of these years have had an involvement with Cheapside School, either as a parent (4 Days have enjoyed and thrived on a Cheapside education), as a Governor, or as a representative of a local organisation whose day-to-day operation on occasions overlaps with School activity. I sit with Adam on the Finance and Premises Group and have recently become more involved in the ever-important Health and Safety Responsibility that the Governing Body have.
Rachael Belfrage
I joined the Governing Body in 2021 as a Parent Governor. I worked as a primary school teacher up until 2016 when I left to have my youngest child. I have lived in Ascot for 6 years and have three children, my youngest son is currently attending Cheapside and my other two children have left the school to go to Secondary school. As a parent of children who have gone through the school I can see first-hand how incredibly privileged we are to have such an amazing local school, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to give something back to the school by serving as a Governor. I have recently become Chair of the Curriculum and Admissions Committee.
Clare Roberts
I have been a teacher at Cheapside School for over nine years now and have been teaching for over twenty years, although some of that time was in secondary before I morphed into a primary school teacher. During my time at Cheapside, I have worn several 'hats'. Initially, I taught Music across the whole school and since then have gradually become more and more involved in the school and now find myself Assistant Headteacher and for the past year have been the Staff Governor, too. I was previously a Foundation Governor at another local primary school so have some understanding of governance and hope that I can bring that to the table.
We have two children, both of whom are teenagers at the other end of the education system; we live in the local area and as a governor I want to be able to give something back to the community.
Philippa Mills
I became part of the Cheapside School community in the 1980s when our 2 boys joined the school. Since then, I have watched the school develop and grow whilst continuing to deliver excellent teaching. I feel strongly that the needs of everyone within the school should be recognised and wherever possible met. Having spent most of my working life before I retired working with families that have children and young people with additional needs, I am delighted to be the school governor who has responsibility for SEND.
Kjersti Richards
I became part of the Cheapside community when my daughter joined Reception in 2021 and I became a Foundation Governor in 2022. My background is in education as I am a secondary school teacher; I started teaching in 2010 and have extensive experience working with gifted and talented students throughout my career. I am delighted to be on the Curriculum and Admissions Committee and look forward to working closely with the school community in the future.
Carole Hill
I joined the board of Governors in 2022, as a Foundation Governor, and member of St Michael's Church in Sunninghill. I have a degree in Human Resources and 20 years’ experience working in the Financial Services industry as a Recruitment Manager. I currently live in Sunninghill, having previously lived in Cheapside. I am also a parent of two children at Cheapside, and one recent leaver, who now attends Ranelagh School.
Peter Naji
Hello. My name is Peter. I am a married, father of two and have lived in Cheapside since 2008. Both our children attended Cheapside Primary, followed by Ranelagh. I am a pilot by trade and in my spare time I enjoy studying the Bible and DIY. I have been blessed with a broad, solid education and, along with my four siblings, have had the privilege of living in many different counties, not to mention, countries. I am very keen to ensure the young girls and boys at Cheapside receive the best possible education, to give them a firm foundation to build upon. I hope in years to come they will be able to look back at their childhood years at Cheapside with fondness and gratitude.
