Today, we start reading and working on the wonderful story 'When the Giant Stirred.' by Celia Godkin.  This links brilliantly with our Extreme Earth topic.

Using the PowerPoint Presentation provided, read the story up to where the people 'are huddled together fearfully in their homes' (Up to and including Slide 8).

Now predict what is going to happen in the story. You can tell an adult or write it down in sentences. Here are some sentence starters:

I think.........will happen. I think this because.........

Try to think about what has happened in the story to make you think this.

Then, after you have made your predictions, read the rest of the story.
