Separating Materials

Salt water, like the sea, is a solution of salt that has been dissolved into the water. In hot countries, where water is often scarce, they build Desalination Plants. These industries take water from the surrounding sea and remove the salt and turn it into drinking water. How do you think they separate salt from the salt water? (Hint: think about the water cycle).

Try doing this experiment to separate salt from salt water, making your own salt crystals (you could even colour them!).
