Kingfishers - Year 4

I'd like to welcome all parents, carers and children to the Kingfisher Class Page.

On this page you will find lots of information on what the children have been doing in class and any other relevant information about year 4.

So far, the children have transitioned well and are enjoying their new classroom! We look forward to having a very productive and successful year.

Should you need to contact me, please feel free to speak to me after school or message the office.

Homework Grid Celebration

Year 4 pupils have demonstrated excellent commitment to their homework this term. The quality and effort shown in their work has been outstanding, with children taking real pride in presenting their learning thoughtfully and thoroughly. I am so proud of what they’ve produced. Well done, Year 4!

Christmas Jumper Day – Wednesday December 17th

Year 4 pupils embraced the festive spirit on Wednesday 17th December by wearing their Christmas jumpers to school. The classroom was filled with colourful designs, from traditional snowflakes and reindeer to more creative interpretations of the season. It was a lovely day filled with excitement and smiles.

Dress up as Historical Figure Day – Friday November 7th

The Year 4 pupils brought history to life on Friday November 7th by dressing up in authentic historical costumes. The children immersed themselves in the period, wearing carefully researched outfits that reflected the clothing styles of their chosen historical figure. It was such an exciting day as the children were so proud to share all the facts they had learned about certain historical events and figures.

Homework

Homework in Year 4, predominantly comprises weekly spellings, times tables, reading and the homework buffet.

Spelling tests will take place every Monday and each Monday they will come home with their new tests for the following week.

Using the TTRS website, children will be allocated times tables to practise every Friday. Progress will be monitored and questions will be updated regularly.

A ‘buffet’ of activities will be allocated every half term, from which children can choose weekly. These will be creative activities, related to current learning in school. They can be done in any order.

At home, children should be reading, practising their times tables and spellings every day.  See the icons below for useful links to support their homework and learning.

Each half term, you will receive our Maths KIRFs for that term.  These are Key Instant Recall Facts which children need to be working on consistently across the half term to help support their learning in class.
